While you'll learn to work with additional specific Photoshop commands and tools, you'll also study concepts that tie together multiple techniques you already know to create effects and make your work more efficient. You'll first work to clean up line art, and then use lots of shortcuts and styling techniques for layers. Then, you'll turn to photographic images, repairing an old damaged picture, softening the focus on one to add atmosphere, and will colorize grayscale images with a variety of techniques. You'll learn to create realistic three-dimensional effects by distorting layers and applying lighting effects. Lastly, you'll save multi-step processes as actions that you can apply later to any image.

In this course, you will learn professional techniques for obtaining consistent, predictable, high-quality images from Photoshop. A related XML technology is the XPath language, which is required for using XSLT stylesheets. Students in this course will therefore learn the basic elements of the XSLT language, as well as the syntax of XPath. The numerous built-in XPath functions are also covered thoroughly. Using XSLT and XPath, students will transform XML documents into other XML documents, and into HTML for display in a browser. The MSXML parser is used in conjunction with the Internet Explorer browser for data examples

Students in this course continue to learn the details of both XSLT and XPath, including the various XSLT elements not covered in Level 1, the XSLT functions, and the unabbreviated XPath syntax. They will also use XSLT in a server-side environment utilizing ASP (Active Server Pages) and ADO (ActiveX Data Objects) technologies. Finally, students will use XSLT with XML data islands and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics).
