Spam Cluttering Your Inbox?

Let CYBERCity's Spam Filtering Service help you eliminate spam - no appliances needed!
Customers frequently call to ask us what they can do to reduce or eliminate the spam e-mail they receive on a daily basis. Not only does spam take valuable time away from the daily tasks employees need to complete, but is also a conduit for other security risks on a network, including viruses and "phishing" attacks where a malicious email attempts to trick you into giving away information such as credit cards or even installing software that can monitor (and later steal) corporate data.
Many vendors have products to combat these threats. Collectively they are called spam firewalls. CYBERCity has made a significant investment at our office in a large, state-of-the-art Barracuda Spam Firewall and offer the service to our customers. The Barracuda is a powerful anti-spam and anti-virus platform that goes beyond what an email servers' built-in spam filters are capable of. Here are a few details about the service:
- We invested in the Barracuda because our customers were looking for a better way to beat spam and the Barracuda is one of the best out there. It's built exclusively for this purpose and does a great job.
- The service has a low "false positive" rate. An issue with many spam filters is that you can lose legitimate emails. That's not the case with the Barracuda service. If an email is blocked as spam, it's not permanently deleted. Instead, it is quarantined on the Barracuda. You can browse to a website where you can view the blocked emails and, if they're legitimate, you can pass them through to the intended recipient. The system will even send you a periodic summary email of what's quarantined so you don't have to "remember" to look.
- The Barracuda allows your organization to "white list" email from specific people or internet domains so they are never blocked.
In addition to use of the Barracuda system, subscribing to this service with CYBERCity includes an elevated email service level. If you notice a particularly tough spammer that's not being blocked, give us a call or email and we'll tune the Barracuda to defeat the spam problem.
The cost is $150 per quarter, or $600 per year per email domain. For a typical office with about 20 email addresses, this comes to $2.50/user per month.
